NGC 3576 (Car)

Comments:           The red nebulas of NGC3576 and NGC3603 are located in a very starrich area of the southern milkyway. This makes it very hard to
                            accentuate the nebula structures with all the stars in the foreground. See the real RGB image below:

To get more contrast in the faint nebula parts and to suppress the stars the h-alpha image below was mixed into the RGB image. To hold the proper star colors
the h-alpha filter was combined with the red channel, each by 50%. Another problem were the disturbing blue halos around the stars. A minimum filter was
used for the blue channel and a color correction using the color picker in Photoshop was added. The final image on top of this page shows the result, nearly
all the blue halos are gone.
